  2. My favorite handmade Christmas present ever was a bridal gown that my father made for a Madame Alexander doll. He put seed pearls on the skirt and used hand tatted lace that the next door neighbor made for the skirt. I was a spoiled child.

  3. My favorite handmade Christmas gift was the Christmas stocking my mom made me so so many years ago. It's red felt with a white top with my name spelled out in red letters. It has a white felt reindeer, and a Christmas tree with teeny tiny decorations and a lot of beautiful handwork. She did one for all 4 of us kids.

  4. I love the stocking my mother made me when I was a little girl -- over 40 years ago. My son made me a divine, clay ring holder a few years ago. My daughter just gave me the cutest little pinch pot pumpkin. My husband writes me love letters. I love all handmade gifts.

  5. Oh, gosh...I can't recall anything homemade that I ever got for Christmas, but if we can count Christmas cookies (a really nice platter of them) that were baked for me by the mother of a student, that would be it. As you know, it's hard for a busy teacher to get in any baking time, so that was a real treat to get that tray of cookies! LOVE the tea towel you made!

  10. I JUST remembered this gift I gave one year -- I was maybe 10 or 11, and my brother wanted a cross-stitched shirt...(he was 4 or 5)....so I secretly made him a shirt. He was so surprised, as he had seen me making it, but I always played it off like I was making it for someone else. :)

My favorite handmade gift I ever received was a wooden doll house that my grandpa made for me when I was a young girl. It was beautiful! He even furnished it to resemble our house; wallpapering the "girls room" with the same wall paper that was in my bedroom, and the "living room" with the same wall paper that was in our living room. It was SO special! :)
