Where has the summer gone?

Greetings from my incredibly messy 'sewing room', where no sewing is taking place at all this weekend.

I can feel the summer days slipping away and panic has begun to set in. As of August 25, I will no longer be on vacation. I have a meeting with a student at 9:00 that morning and, to me, that officially marks the end of summer, even though school doesn't really begin for us until September 1.

I'm scared.

My course is finished (although I'm still waiting on the final mark) but I've done very little of the real work I brought home with me. And it has to be done. Before school starts. Yikes!

I'm breakin' out the Nibs. And a bottle of wine.

But you all know I'd much rather be playing with this
and this
and the beloved Bernice.
Enough dreaming. Back to work.

I agree...this summer just went way too fast! Seems they go faster every year!

Summer? Did I miss it? Hope you and Bernice get to spend some time together soon!

I was going to suggest you live it up this week, but I guess you have to get busy on your lesson plans and other materials. Well, maybe you can steal away a few hours here and there for one-on-one time with Bernice and other fun activities. I hope so.

Awww...don't worry...you'll get it all done. You know us teacher-types....we somehow manage. I guess that skill comes from trying to teach to all different levels at once...and usually succeeding!!! We can multi-task with the best of them, right? So...do a little sewing with some schoolwork mixed in and you'll be right on schedule by the first day of school...I'm sure of it!

I remember when I taught school, I would get that panic feeling around the middle of August. I hated it because I always got everything done and was ready for the first day of school with time to spare. You will too. So have a good week do what needs to get done and sprinkle some sewing/crafting time in the mix. Hugs, Dogwood

something less heroic...take your break...I find these help to get clear and focused.
