Block 5
Block 6
The first six blocks together.
I like the white background and I'm thinking about grey for the centre circles. How many more blocks will I make, I wonder... If I make 12 in total, I will have a pretty decent-sized quilt. (And to think, I predicted I'd only make one of these.)
And, because it was my FNSI goal, I cut out my Paris Jacket.
A bit of a tedious job, especially since I didn't want to cut the pattern pieces. I pinned and marked, then removed the pattern and cut on my markings. Too much time spent on my knees on the floor! I always find the cutting the hardest part so I'm excited about starting to sew this garment.
Not many scraps left over. I got my money's worth out of 2m of fabric!
It's a long weekend here (Family Day) and the extra day off to spend with my girl is much appreciated. I hope you all have a lovely weekend too!

love those Dresdens - and I like them on the white background, too. Can't wait to see your Paris jacket all sewn up - I haven't done any clothes sewing in ages - but it might be time. Enjoy your time with your daughter!
Your dresdens look great. I agree they look good on the white background.
Good luck with your jacket. I've never sewn clothes from a pattern before, just altered.
Enjoy Family Day!
I love you Dresdens! They look like a lot of work. I have not cut out a piece of clothing to sew in years unless you count some Barbie cloths I made my granddaughters and a niece this past year.
Your dresdens look fantastic.
Beautifully done. :0)
Hugs. Trish
Very nice blocks.
I love those dresdens-really nice colors. I can't wait to see your jacket when you are done with it.
I have decided to make my mom a dresden plate quilt for Christmas. I've never done any kinfd of appliqueing before, but I watched a Sewing With Nancy episode about them and I think they are doable now. She made some with yo-yos as the center that were very cute!
You did well with your FNSI. Good job.
That Paris Jacket is going to look great on you. How fun you stayed up until the wee hours chatting with your daughter. Hope you and your family are having a wonderful weekend together.
I love that color combination on your Dresden plates!
love those blocks....glad you got to spend some quality time with your girl
Looks like you had a great night. I love the Dresden plate design. I agree though with the make only 1 idea - my one and only was made of silk neckties. Silk AND Bias on the same quilt?? Was I nuts? Probably lol. Glad you've taken a liking to them though.
When I use a multi sized pattern, I trace my size out on tissue paper from the $ store. That way I can cut it and nobody cares!
Your dresdens are looking great, they are addictive aren't they? A quilt of 12 will be glorious!
Great color choices for your Dresdens!
Really love the yellow and black combination, great job on the Dresden Plate blocks!! White would make it stand out, have you tried a light gray linen?
Pretty Dresden blocks. Will be a lovely quilt. Look forward to seeing the jacket made up. I still have a summer frock cut out to sew up from last year!!Bad me! Glad OC made it home for a nice visit!
I am loving your Dresdens, Rachel! The colors are gorgeous! Good luck with your jacket. :o)
