Sunny Weekend ☺

I finished my paper yesterday afternoon. Hurray! It's not due until Saturday morning, but I'll email it off Friday night so I don't miss the deadline. I am going to let it sit and 'percolate' for a day or two and then I will edit it with a fresh eye. I feel like a burden has been lifted... never mind that I still have three chapters of reading to do (in the very boring textbook) for this week.

Last night I did this...

I planted some tomatoes in pots (and in front is a container of zucchini).

And I did this...

Filled the barrels out front with flowers - pansies, viola, lobelia. Pretty!
.
This morning we did this...

We planted our plot in the community garden, which is only four blocks from our house. I've never gardened before, except for planting flowers in the barrels shown above. We put in peas, carrots, beets, potatoes, onions, parsnips and lettuce. I sure hope something grows! Look at Mr. P hard at work, turning over the soil. This is going to be our 'together' project; since we no longer have a place to go back east in the summer, I need to have something to do to keep me occupied.

It's only a little garden plot - 10' x 10' - and it's totally natural and organic, so no chemical fertilizers, no machinery, no hoses.

And this is what I'm going to do... right now!

Glad you got the paper done! Your flowers and veggies look great. Hope the garden plot has a good yield for you, I've never planted a veggie garden like that either. I like that it's organic though

Enjoy your sewing time!

Congrats to you for all the gardening! Every spring I say I'm going to have a garden...but it's not going to be this year...hopefully next! Enjoy sewing, too!

I love that community garden concept but how do you WATER the plants with no hoses allowed? Most community gardens I know have a connection for hoses and people take their own and use the connection there. A 10 x 10 plot sounds small UNTIL you need to keep it watered on a regular basis....with NO hose allowed!!!

Congrats on finishing your paper! The gardening looks fun. Did you have to put your name on a waiting list to get a plot? I ask because the community garden I visited in San Francisco had a waiting list of several years.

Yum, you're going to have nice fresh veggies soon. (Hopefully.)

Good for you. I think you will enjoy your garden plot. My tomatoes are still on the kitchen window sill. I normal start them under lights, but it was the only thing I was starting indoors and didn't want the light on for only six tomato plants. I'm very pleased how well they grew at the window.
